If you’re one of the regulars at postsecret.com, you’re probably there because you like to find dirt on people you’ve never met, never will met, and never will see. You might’ve heard the phrase “secrets, secrets, are no fun, unless you share with everyone!” Stop. Right. There. If you use that phrase on a frequent basis, please leave this website now. It’s an incredibly inarticulate phrase, and we like smart people around here. Unfortunately, though, that’s the phrase that conveys the whole purpose of Open Our Inbox. (Don’t worry about that phrase as a reference – I’m a literate writer! I can use big words! I can spell big words! I can use syntax! And proper punctuation! After sifting through my old e-mails I’m pretty sure you can label my old writing skills as inadequate, but that was way back then, and that’s part of the humor.)
You can be the ones to judge whether my conversations with others are interesting, boring, hilarious, embarrassing, clever, and or useless. To say the least, they’re entertaining. I will dig through my MySpace, Facebook, e-mail (recent, old, everything.) For the record, I’m going to be using multiple e-mail accounts. More for you to read, aren’t you excited?
Nothing will be blocked off from you, the readers. Want to read some of my thousands of saved e-mails? My thousands of messages on MySpace? Facebook? Sure. I’m ashamed of my past. Who isn’t? Let’s hope I’m not digging myself into a ditch by opening up my inboxes messages that have accumulated over the years.
You’ll learn my secrets, my friends secrets, (their loss, if it’s on the internet it’s as good as public information, and anyways, they’ll probably never hear about this site anyway, since it’s, you know, one of almost 4 million blogs on WordPress alone – and the least successful one as of now), and EVERY thing I’ve ever hidden in my life that I have talked about via the internet.
As of now, this idea is half-baked. Hopefully this site will eventually attract enough viewers to get sponsors or enough to merit advertising. I’m not delusional in any sense and will continue to sustain myself through other methods, but who knows how much work this can supplement. (Because seriously, who wouldn’t rather be copying and pasting vs. “real” work?)
So please enjoy delving into my personal life. You’ll learn a lot about me. Feel free to judge, laugh, cringe, feel embarrassed for me, or stop reading. Haters are always welcomed too – bring on the millions of page views!
